People Against Genocide Smash Military Satellites on Balfour Anniversary

In the early hours of Monday 2nd November, on the 109th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, a 3-person People Against Genocide (PAG) team, once again successfully evaded security at the Tring site of military tech and cyber warfare company Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C), and gained access to the building. Once inside the facility at Icknield Way, Tring, Hertfordshire HP23 4JX, the PAG team began dismantling military equipment including military satellites. The three were arrested after allegedly causing extensive damage inside the weapons facility.
Ultra I&C are a key supplier to UAV Tactical Systems, the Leicester subsidiary of Elbit Systems, Israel’s biggest weapons maker, who produce 85% of the Israeli military’s killer drone fleet, and 80% of their land-based weaponry and equipment. Elbit boast that their deadly products are “battle-tested” on Palestinians, and they have been used against civilian populations across West Asia.
Ultra I&C claim to specialise in “AI mission solutions” and “secure battlefield communications systems”, but job listings for Ultra I&C’s Tring site show that it is a manufacturing facility. This was confirmed by a data breach in 2024, which showed that as well as working with Elbit, Ultra I&C work with the Israeli military directly. On a previous PAG raid of the Tring factory, action-takers also found, and dismantled, satellites bound for the Israeli military, which the Crown Prosecution Service claim were worth £1.3 million.
Today’s action was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the signing of the notorious Balfour Declaration, in which the British government committed itself to the establishment of a “Jewish homeland” in Palestine, leading to the Palestinian Nakba, the destruction of hundreds of Palestinian villages, and the murder and expulsion of thousands of the country’s indigenous population. Today also marks one year since the Palestine Action prisoners began a collective hunger strike, which lasted 73 days.
Because of their involvement in the genocide in Gaza, PAG have targeted Ultra I & C facilities on a number of previous occasions. In addition to the previous action at Tring, they blockaded the Maidenead site in June, using lock-on devices, covering the Cambridge premises in blood-red paint and graffiti, at the end of July, and breaking into the Aberdeen site in August.
People Against Genocide issued the following statement:
“Our action today is timed to coincide with the 1917 signing of the bloody Balfour Declaration, in which the British government betrayed the Palestinian people. Consequently, the Palestinians suffered hundreds of attacks from Zionist terrorists, such as train and market bombings, and village massacres, which led on to the Nakba of 1948, and a further 78 years of ethnic cleansing and murder, culminating in the current genocide in Gaza, the pogroms in the West Bank, and a concerted attempt to exterminate the entire Palestinian population of Occupied Palestine.
“Not only did the British government sign away a country that was not theirs to give, they have continued to assist in the Zionist occupation of Palestine, and in the murder of its native population, right up to the present day. Chief among the other foreign actors actively assisting the genocide is, of course, Britain’s unruly offspring, the US, where Ultra I & C is headquartered. The firm is part of the military Industrial Complex, which makes billions from the slaughter of Palestinians, and uses Gaza as a testing ground. Sickeningly, Elbit Systems, who Ultra I & C supply, boast that their horrific weapons are ‘battle-tested’ on Palestinians.
“By shutting down the Tring death factory today, and dismantling the weapons inside, our action-takers are aiming to save lives in Palestine, and uphold international law. The Labour governments of both Burham and Starmer, have not only failed to do anything to stop the genocide, abandoning their commitments to international law, and to simple human decency, they have actively assisted the Israeli military, with spy flights and arms shipments. They have also targeted and criminalised those who oppose the genocide, leading to hundreds of arrests, and increasingly draconian misuse of the counter-terrorism laws to silence those who act, or even speak out. History will not forget their role, nor the international role of Britain over the centuries, and for the 109 years since the signing of the Balfour Declaration. Free Palestine!”
